As I think about the 49ers and how they were able to win so many games this year...especially the game yesterday...with basically, the same key players that seemed hopeless just a year ago...it makes me wonder...how is this possible?
Well...from what I can see...and according to Jim Harbaugh, it's all in the preparation. It's focusing on all the little things day in and day out. Because these little things make up the big thing.
And it's believing in yourself and your teammates. But according to Jim Harbaugh...believing only goes so far...you have to practice and prepare for all the possible scenarios and master the fine details of your position. And it's sacrafice. Giving up many of the time wasting habits on a personal and professional level that are not part of the success formula.
All NFL players have talent, or they wouldn't be there...but it seems the great ones (and the great teams) are masters of preparation, focus, and attention to detail. They take it to the extreme. And this was on display yesterday at Candlestick Park. It was beautiful on many levels.
For me, as an owner operator of small businesses, and employer, this 49ers march to the Superbowl simply cements in my head that it's "Never to late to become who you could have been".
And like Jim Harbaugh says "once you get that taste in your mouth of success...you want more of it". The positive energy and momentum feeds off itself and becomes an unstoppable force...just like the 49ers were yesterday.
Look-out Giants or Packers...because here come the Niners...and Thank You Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers for sharing your magic carpet ride with us. We know it's not over. Go Niners!
