What a good day!

Posted Mar 08 2009 12:00am
Although the time changed today (Spring Forward), we didn't lose any sleep! We woke Drew up around 8:15 and he was a happy boy! It's easy to tell how the day will play out by two factors: the first thing in the morning "mood", and the weather. They were both on my side today (happy and sunny). We did our usual fast food run, then Home Depot, and then played in the yard for a while. Drew was really enjoying being outside. He has started to notice the trees. He also noticed a bird in the parking lot. (These are big observations for an autistic 1.5 yr old.)

Oh, and BIG BIG BIG...he can now give the stick to K.K. when commanded. This was a simple direction that he could follow at 13 months old and hasn't been able to do since. HUGE, HUGE. Not only did he pick up the stick and hold it out to "give", he then took it over to K.K. which means he acknowledged K.K.

Lots of tongue playing today. MB-12 shot was yesterday...so that's probably why.

More playing in the hot tub today and Drew really liked the bubbles. :)

Nap: 2-4 and 2pps.

Terrific eye contact and response to name.

AND...we think he's trying to say "Aaah" for apple.

I may need to be reminded of this day later.

Today's menu: pecan milk, pecan w pear pancakes, cran/blueberry juice, pears, lemon cookie, turkey w/carrots, green beans w/ apple, Easter Sweet Bread (from SCDBakery), almond pancakes, more turkey w/ carrots, mashed cauliflower
