What’s on My Nightstand – May 2012

What's On Your Nightstand

This month was probably one of my most varied months for reading, ranging from Amish fiction to a vampire story and including a variety of non-fiction books as well. I also read one of the most inspiring books I have ever come across, a memoir by Jennifer Gilbert called I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag . You can read my review of it at 5 Minutes for Mom .

I also posted several reviews at 5 Minutes for Books :

I honestly didn’t realize how much I have been reading until I put this list together. I think it’s a combination of having more time and getting used to reading on my Kindle. My review-pending pile is finally getting manageable again, which is definitely a good thing! While I love having lots of great books to read, I start to worry when the obligations reach critical mass. :)

Anyway, here’s a list of what else I’ve finished over the last month:

  • 7 Hours Omnibus by M. Dellosso, R. Gutteridge, T. Thrasher, T. Pawlik, R. Kendig, J.A. Wilson, and R. Parrish – A very cool collection of stories around a central question, “What would you do with 7 hours to live?”
  • By the Light of the Silvery Moon by Tricia Goyer – The story of the parable son set against the backdrop of the Titanic.
  • The Edge of Grace by Christa Allan – A story about acceptance and love and what that might look like in today’s world.
  • First Shift – Legacy by Hugh Howey – Fascinating prequel to the Wool Omnibus , which I absolutely loved.
  • The Next Always by Nora Roberts – Fun, light read with the obligatory three brothers and three best friends.
  • Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim – Just finished this one and have yet to write my review, but wow, this was a great book!

And here’s what I’m reading now:
