Weekly Review 9/1- 9/5

Posted Sep 13 2008 11:54pm
What we didn't do this week was a lot of school work. We had my bestest friend, Julie and her family, visiting from Kentucky on Monday and Tuesday. We had loads of fun with them and were very sad to see them go. Tuesday night brought our local autism group's support meeting. We always have fun there and Leslie does child care for the group. Leslie rocks btw!

Wednesday was ot day. When we arrived, we discovered that the pt eval was in and they had a cancellation so Logan could have his first pt appt after ot that day. He was nervous and excited. I, on the other hand was really nervous about lumping them together and overloading or over stimulating him. We tried it and it seemed to work. I will admit that I am glad that it is not me taking pt as she really worked him. He will not be a giant marshmallow for long that is certain. We decided to try the pt first next Wednesday. This will leave more time in ot for visual tracking and seat work. He amazed everyone by tying the ot's shoes on the first try. So much for my biggest issues being that he can't tie his shoes or ride a bike. lol

After therapy, we (Logan,Michael, and I) went to Michael's parents house in Davenport for the afternoon. Jim, Michael's dad, is having computer issues. Michael worked on his computer and I did laundry since our washer is out. I think it needs a new belt. Michael is going to look at it on his next day off. Logan did manage to get some schoolwork done while we were there like math and free reading (he is finishing up the last Harry Potter book). We also did some RDI and played Connect Four. That afternoon , we started a new semester of School of Music and Madison was back to dance classes. She decided to continue with ballet and tap and add clogging when she is seven.

The rest of the week was a blur with housework, yard work and appts. So, we actually managed to finish math and copywork last week. That means we have to double up this week as we are at the last of the school year. We will finish up our school year by Thanksgiving then take all of December off. We have loads of fun doing Christmas stuff and learning about Jesus' birth!
