Waiting, waiting for the miracle to happen ......

Posted Nov 04 2010 2:31pm
Murray made a special card for Tinkerbell today. We dropped it into the Veterinary Hospital this evening ... the receptionist immediately brought it down to Tinkerbell and left it beside her bed. Tinkerbell is still in an induced coma ...

She had an easy night last night - was stable throughout. This morning the vet told us that they were going to try and reduce the sedation levels during the day to see if she was still fitting. By early afternoon they were a little happier with her progress ....

This evening the vet said that really now it is just a waiting game .... tomorrow they will take her out of the induced coma fully and see how she reacts. They are not sure what, if any, neurological damage she may have due to all the seizures she has suffered. The very best outcome would be that she copes well with waking up - her fits have completely ceased and she has a 'good' clinical outcome ie no neurological damage.

"Waiting for the miracle, for the miracle to happen" - as Leonard Cohen sings, it's song no.6 on his Songs from the Road CD. Everytime we're in the car and we have been in the car a lot over the past few days, Murray pushes the button to song no.6 and sings along with Leonard ....

"We're waiting for the miracle to happen, Mom" he keeps telling Murray's Mom

and indeed, that is just what we are doing ....

Paws crossed, prayers said - we're waiting for that miracle ....

- Clive
