The newest Belly Button

Posted Nov 09 2010 8:31pm

Ollie’s cord stump fell off a couple of days ago. Keaton has been keeping a close eye on it. The boys attended a sibling class at the hospital a few weeks before the baby arrived. The boys learned all about how a baby eats from the umbilical cord and how when they come out of Mommy’s tummy, it turns into a belly button. Keaton was very anxious to see what kind of Belly button Biscuit was going to end up with. So every time I changed his diaper Keaton would come check on his stump to see if it was ready to come off yet. Finally on Saturday it came off. Keaton was so excited he couldn’t stop jumping around. He even went to find Gavin to let him know the good news.

Keaton got to help with his first real bath (which Ollie hated and cried the entire time. But Keaton was excited and played with the little bath toys that came with his baby tub). Today at his 2 week doctors visit his Peditrician told us not to give him a real bath for a week because he still had some goo in his belly button. Ooops! I thought once the stump fell off they were good to go. Guess I was wrong.
