Like most parents in the autism treatment and vaccine safety community, our Editor at Large Mark Blaxill also has "a day job." We'd like to congratulate him on the success of his new book with co-author Ralph Eckardt.
The book, titled: The Invisible Edge: Taking Your Strategy to the Next Level Using Intellectual Property (Portfolio, 2009), was just named the “Best Strategy Book of 2009” by the editors of strategy + business magazine. (See the review here.) For those of you who are not familiar with s+b, here is a brief description from their web-site (website.)
“strategy+business (s+b), a thought-leadership business magazine for senior business executives and the people who influence them, reaches more than 150,000 readers worldwide. Alone among major business publications, s+b draws on a combination of journalists, academics, consultants, and corporate strategists to contribute articles that set the agenda for business leaders and guide them through its execution.”
Blaxill writes, "In addition to the widespread interest for The Invisible Edge we’ve seen from the IP community, we were especially pleased to receive this recognition from s+b, in large part because making the case that intellectual property is critical subject matter for CEOs was the reason we wrote the book. Phil Rosenzweig writes in his review, 'The Invisible Edge isn’t merely about taking strategy to the next level. Intellectual property is central to the formulation of strategy at any level. And by the end of the book, it is hard to imagine a successful strategy that isn’t solidly backed up by the protection of intellectual property.'"
