- the very serious threat to the Assistance Dog Programme continues - last night's news on RTE highlights the problem facing the programme as we head into the New Year with no statutory funding from the Government!
We know there are lots of difficulties and problems facing the Government but we really hope someone in Government understands the huge benefits of having an Assistance Dog and will provide funding to ensure the survival of the programme.
Since I came into the NSLM's life three years ago .... right up to this very day .... the benefits to Murray having me around are immense ... He has developed into a wonderful not-so-little man with more confidence, more independance and more speech and understanding than his family could ever have hoped for ....
The Assistance Dog Programme for children with autism cannot be allowed to go under because of a lack of statutory funding from the Government! We hope someone in Leinster House is listening to us!We've even asked Santa Claus for some help - but he said he really thought the 'Big Boys' in Government should help on this one!
