Logan is going to summer camp this year with church. 5 whole days and nights without mom or dad. He is going with his best friend, Brooke and her mom though. Plus, he really likes Mr. Frank from church and he is the boy's chaperone. There is 1 adult per 5 children and they will only be an hour away so I can save him if I need to. So, we have begun some new routines that we will know he will need at camp. Like taking a shower himself and getting dressed in the bathroom. Remembering to wipe his face when he sweats ( he's allergic to his own sweat, what a concept, right?). I will have to be sure to pack the Benadryl so when his face goes beet red from the sweat, they can give him something. As we have begun scaffolding his routines to get him to feel competent and complete them, I thought WOW! 5 years ago , he didn't talk. Now, I secretly want him to be quiet sometimes. A year ago, all he would talk about is Pokemon. Now, after a year of RDI, he maintains a fairly good conversation. He references me to see my opinion. I can make eye contact with him and he can read my face a little. Today, he cooked his own lunch!!!! I can't wait to blog about summer camp.
