Speech Therapy - Finally!

Posted Jun 13 2009 12:18am
Nathan has his first speech therapy session today. I am glad that he is finally going to start, hopefully this will be really helpful for him. His biggest problem is leaving out the first letter in words or just making the syllable sounds and not actually saying anything at all.

He's been talking a lot lately though! When I try to give him is medicine I give him a treat afterwards and now he says "first this, then this" and points to each thing. He hears a lot of "first this, then this" in therapy so he's come to know it well. He also says "what?" when you call his name which I think is just adorable.

Maury got stitches yesterday, that should go on the record for sure. :) He fell off of a chair and hit a sliding door rail. It wasn't too yucky because it didn't bleed much, but he still needed stitches. I have a picture that I'll post as soon as I get it off of my camera.

My day is fully booked today with a phone appointment with his DAN! doctor, a meeting with a child psychologist for another child of mine and speech therapy in the afternoon. Our house is taking the toll on all of these days of just coming and going. I'm thinking about not scheduling any appointments next week and hopefully people will be busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, I will be too.

I almost forgot. On Monday, December 3rd I am hosting a GFCF information night at my house for anyone interested in finding out more about the diet. I have had a lot of people ask me about it and what they really need is someone to sit down and tell them the ins and outs. I'm hoping that is what this meeting will accomplish. A friend of mine is helping me out, she knows much more about all of this than I do. If you'd like to come, RSVP on this evite:

I'll post again later and tell ya'll how the speech therapy goes!
