This week I went to the library and picked up the books that I have reserved. I have been researching "Autism" again, and I am moving down the aisle of what there is to read about it. This week I read (glanced
thru, and skimmed over) some interesting books.
Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism,
ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies.- This is by Dr. Kenneth Bock, and Cameron
Stauth.
It is very interesting. I have learned so MUCH from this book. I can say that I have cried because I have seen and heard about the kids that have problems just like the cases Dr. Bock writes bout. It is totally unreal to think that an unruly child would have a metabolic disorder and that is why he or she is BAD. But it is the truth, and I believe it.
There are ways to medically treat the kids that have so many violent episodes...it's not discipline, or institutions, or pharmaceuticals, but bio medicine that can help them.
So you need to read this book if you know of anyone that has a child that it just bad, because they are in extreme pain. I wish I would have known this for my brother growing up.
So this books explains the four steps in treating and healing many conditions- like
ADHD and Autism, and others that are on the spectrum.
Rex, by Cathleen Lewis- its a true story of a mom on a quest for her son to be able to get the educational needs he deserves as well as the love of the piano. Rex's therapy is the Piano, and he is a Musial savant to say the least. Its a great story of doing what you can for your child with special needs.
This book was definitely judges by its cover, and I was pleasantly surprised. This book might just be the most helpful of all the ones that I have read this week. The author discusses the use of enzymes and how they are beneficial to the kids with neurological conditions (sensory processing, Autism,
ADHD) This mom on a mission relates that the use of enzymes with everyday eating of foods, even Gluten and Casein can help the child absorb nutrients that they might not be able to get if they were on a Gluten Free Casein Free diet.
It also gave me an idea for mixing up supplements for Isaac- by melting chocolate, adding the supplements once it's cooled and then letting it harden in the freezer. This book makes me want to go out and by the enzymes and use those exclusively...but we have so many supplements now, I don't want to waste them....
But I am going to purchase the enzymes in the near future for Isaac.
This book introduces you to homeopathy and what it can do for children and adults. It's mainly focused towards kids with autism, but there are cases of sickness with adults. Dr.
Lansky is a homeopath now because she was on a quest for her own son to be free of his autism. This was a great book for me to read as I am very interested in helping Isaac with homeopathy.
