the Nourishing Hope Team:
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are excited to announce that Julie Matthews’ autism diet book, Nourishing Hope for Autism, has earned a Gold Medal“IPPY” in the 2009 National Independent Publisher Book Awards.
“Most Progressive Health Book”
The Independent Publisher Book Awards honor books that “exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity necessary to take chances, break new ground, and bring about change, not only to the world of publishing, but to our society.”
Nourishing Hope for Autism was recognized as “Outstanding Book of The Year” and awarded a gold medal for “Most Progressive Health Book.” IPPY Awards are given to books published by independent publishers; titles are by both self-published authors and those published by academic presses. The 2009 IPPYs were presented in New York on Friday, May 29th.
While this recognition is an honor for Julie, who’s poured years of diligent research and clinical experience into her book, it is an achievement for autism awareness and the movement of parents, leading edge physicians, and researchers who are helping recover children from autism.
It is our wish that this book will help validate that good food choices positively affect the symptoms of autism (and other childhood disorders), and elevate the field of discussion to include more medical professionals. By being acknowledged as the “most progressive” health insight today, this award serves to affirm and accelerate the efforts of the autism community and parents who work tirelessly to promote the message that dietary intervention helps children with autism.
We are committed to supporting the thousands of moms, dads, caregivers, adults living with autism, and leading clinicians who practice or recommend diet and nutritional intervention for autism.
It is Julie’s intent to “inform and empower” parents and clinicians to know WHY and HOW autism diets work, and help them effectively implement diet and nutritional intervention.
Readers of Nourishing Hope for Autism share that the book has helped them further their child’s healing:
“This book really inspired me and helped my son tremendously”
“Get it! First book that gives a parent ALL the information to correctly put an autism diet into place.”
“This book is very informative. The author is right on the money with everything she says.”
“Julie makes the various diet possibilities understandable.”
“I encourage my own clients to read it again and again”
