From Janet Grillo: AN EXCITING MOMENT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING TOWARDS FOR YEARS IS NOW HERE!
FLY AWAY by Janet Grillo tells the poignant yet humor filled story of a single mother of a teenager with severe autism, as she is forced to confront her daughter's future. What will sustain her child into adulthood...as well as herself?
FLY AWAY was selected as 1 of 8 out of 2000 films submitted for Dramatic Competition in the esteemed SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST FILM FESTIVAL in Austin, TX. We made our premiere there in March.
We have played in several other film festivals over the past month, including winning Best Feature and Special Jury Prize for Ashley Rickards, who plays the role of the daughter, at the ARIZONA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
On THIS FRIDAY, FLY AWAY will open for commercialtheatrical run in select cities.
As of 4/15, it will open in:
LOS ANGELES (at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills + AMC Covina 3 in Covina)
NEW YORK CITY (at the Village East Cinema in Manhattan)
WASHINGTON, DC (at the West End Cinema)
As of 4/22, it will open in:
NEW HAVEN (at the BowTie Cinema)
Please contact each theater for details. Including which days I will be there for a Q+A after the screening.
