“Sincere love is something that sacrifices—not something that indulges itself. Sincere love is responsible. It would never knowingly hurt, but would heal.” –Richard L. Evans
The topic of relationship has been on my mind a lot lately, for a variety of reasons, and it seems this is one of the hardest areas to maintain “success.” Even when you think you have a relationship that will stand the test of time–it can fall apart on you when you least expect it.
This quote is a reminder to me to keep my own focus on being sincere and offering love and healing no matter what my own hurts have been. It also helps me to see that someone who is purposely hurting me is not showing love and not being responsible. As the saying goes, “Hurt people hurt people,” and I think that is so true.
I know this is vague (mainly because I am not comfortable sharing details about other people), but I think it has many applications. In the meantime, I will keep trying to show love and pray for healing.
