iTouch applications...let's talk

Posted Dec 19 2010 4:41pm
Apple iPod touch 8 GB (2nd Generation--without iPhone OS 3.1 Software) [Previous Model]
I bought an iTouch for Drew last Christmas.  Many of my friends swore to me that Drew would be able to navigate it and it would keep him occupied for hours.  Guess what, they were right!  I bought it last year just before our Christmas flight to Florida.  It worked beautifully for the entire trip and then some.  We even used in restaurants for awhile.  He "weaned" off of it for about half the year; but took a new liking addiction to it again.  I don't mind at all because the games he plays are very educational.  The new challange is finding new apps that will keep him interested.  For the longest time, he never realized that I also had videos (TV episodes) saved on it...Dora, Yo Gabba Gabba, Blue's Clues, etc.  Fine by me.  I didn't want him to know they were there.  However, recently, while Hubby was "babysitting" him for AN HOUR; he introduced the Diego video to him.  DANGIT.  Now, he is watching one particular episode of Yo Gabba Gabba over and over.  I won't delete it YET.
Anyway, I noticed that he was playing less games and watching more videos.  This was actually surprising to me because he LOVES the games and isn't as interested in TV anymore.  And, I've been super pleased by his attention span with the games that I felt we were safe for our next flight ... in five days.  Now, that he isn't as interested, what will we do?  First, why is he not interested?  Hubby figured it out.  He's bored.  He's mastered all of them.  All. Of. Them.  Our kiddos are so stinkin' smart!  He can whip through a game of Memory in about 7 seconds flat.  Don't fret if you're considering getting one...he still LOVES it.  Just his attention span with it isn't as long.  So, that brings me to the point of this post.  I need some new tried and true apps to get me through the plane flights that we have coming up.  PLEASE HELP!

First, I'll list the ones that we use and he loves.  Then, PLEASE send me the ones that your child uses and loves.  We can help each other out here!  Thanks so much!
