Today, I blog about my beloved Aunt Judy!!! She has been battling breast cancer recently and sent this update today.
Hi All,
We have reached a major milestone in this on going process of "something new every time we turn around". Judy has had her final Chemo Treatment. YEAH TEAM!!!! She still has to have a year of Herceptin, but that is the mild drug that is not considered chemo and is much less toxic and much more tolerable. The Doctor visit yesterday was encouraging. The Dr listed a number of possible side effects that Judy avoided by adhering to to the prescribed measures established to minimize same. He said she 'tolerated' the treatments well, only lost five pounds through the entire process and had just the tingling in the hands and feet, which would go away in time. The loss of taste is expected to return as the Taxol wears off, probably in 4-6 weeks. He told her to watch for hair growth, and expect the low energy levels to fade. In other words, expect to physically return to normal.
Hallelujah! God is good all the time!!! Thank you Lord!!!! My prayers have been answered!
