D. I. Don't Know, Don't Ask

Posted Feb 04 2010 11:14am

So I like to shop at DI (the most rockin’ thrift store in Utah). Don’t judge me. Something in me is addicted to looking through people’s old stuff (not to be confused with old people’s stuff, which is there too). It’s like treasure hunting. Only instead of gold, I might find say. . . a hardly-used, only slightly melted Christmas candle.

So, the other day I was amusing myself at the thrift store for a lengthy period of time (the people-watching alone is a sport). I come upon these two poor ladies in a terrible fight. Just look at them:

I felt so badly for the girl who lost her head. Then I realized she was trying to choke the older woman. All I could do was yell, “cat fight!” and snap this photo.

I went to check on them later. An employee must have sensed the commotion. He had discretely “taken care of it.”  Not a trace of them left; just the slightly melted Christmas candle.
