Celebrating Confirmation, celebrating great progress ....

Posted May 03 2010 11:19am
This was a very special weekend for us - Sorcha made her Confirmation on Friday .... Unlike some schools it was school uniforms for the ceremony which we thought was a great idea! After the Church - the girls and their parents were all invited back to the Parish Hall for refreshments. Sorcha and her friends .... Earlier that morning, we got a family photo .... Murray totally insisted on all the family - so Tinkerbell (who was none to happy - that cat needs to learn to be more accommodating!) and me were in the photo! But there was also one without the 'animals'! Not quite sure why but there you are! Days like this can be tough on Murray! Four years ago for Sorcha's Communion there was no way Murray would have sat through the Church ceremony and coped with all the people and noise afterwards. The progress he has made over the past four years have been tremendous ... He might have been a bit concerned and worried about everything in the morning but with lots of reassurance and explanations - we happily went off the enjoy Sorcha's 'special day' .... Murray was great in the Parish Centre with his grandparents and Sorcha's godparents ... and then we headed up to Delgany Golf Club for Sorcha's Confirmation lunch .... there was a very special cake there for her - it was iced just like a gaelic football pitch with a little footballer - in Foxrock-Cabinteely strip! Sorcha was really delighted with her cake! Murray sat through a long lunch and was a great 'little man' .... all smiles and chat ... No-one pretended that they saw him feed me the odd little treat! No-one in Irish Guide Dogs reads this blog so we won't get into any trouble! We even managed a group photo - that's never a big favourite of Murray's! He starts to get worried about smiling ... but he did really well .... and we got one outside as well .... Sorcha's Confirmation was a wonderful day and the whole family were very proud of their 'little' girl .... the 12 years since her baptism have flown by ... she's now getting all grown up ... A very Happy Confirmation Day!
