In my experience, I'd say it's never "too late." I've never tried the biomedical therapies, but I think you can do the GFCF diet any time--the removal of those items from the diet either works, or it doesn't. It doesn't matter what age a person is for those, but what they're eating.
Sensory issues can be treated a number of ways, through stimulation and desensitization in our case. A physical/occupational therapist should be able to guide you on that issue, and while younger might be better, I don't see why you couldn't try it now.
Limited speech makes many older-children therapies more difficult, as they require the ability to reflect and adapt, etc. Have you used wraparound therapy. TSS, etc.,? They seem to be able to help children and parents learn how to make communication more effective, and work with the schools as well.
I think whatever you do, it's all experimental from month to month. Some things work for some kids, and others don't. Try it all--see what affects your child most. Good luck!

My son is now 14 yrs. old and has moderate autism. He was diagnosed at 2. He had some speech therapy and since then has had special education classes at his public school. He has limited speech and cognitive skills. He has sensory issues as well. He has improved his communication greatly since in school but there is much more room for improvement. Is it too late to try biomedical treatments or the other therapies?
