Autism and Medication (K.I.S.S.)

Posted Apr 12 2010 3:11pm

As I’ve mentioned in my last entry, Alex is not currently on medication (he’s not even 10, for goodness sake people. . .he’s little). I love Temple Grandin’s view on autism and medication. It goes well with what my shrink once told me, “If you feel normal then you’re on the right medication.”

Temple Grandin:

“If you start using a medication in a person with autism, you should see an obvious improvement in behavior in a short period of time. If you do not see an obvious improvement, they probably should not be taking the stuff. It is that simple.”

Temple Grandin is probably the …most renowned adult with autism. Check out her website!
