52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge

Posted Jan 18 2010 8:25pm
Before you go and think that I have lost my marbles, let me explain. Logan's lessons have increased dramatically. He is finally ready for academics. Woot! Woot! Anyway, part of homeschooling a gifted child is picking a tough curriculum to go with it. I prayed about it and prayed about it. I asked my chain of prayer warriors to pray about it. I fought what I clearly saw was the answer tooth and nail. Why, you ask? Because it was literature based and would be a lot of work for me. I am embarrassed to say that was my original selfish answer. After a while I bit the bullet and did what needed to be done for my child. I didn't do it willingly at first.

Now, I am kinda excited about it. I love to read and I don't read nearly enough. It is very relaxing for me. I should do it more often. Plus, it will be a great way for me and Logan to have something to share together. We can talk about the books and have a commonality. Above all, I can 't expect him to take end of term exams about books that I haven't read myself.

So, I will read 52 books in 52 weeks this year. Yeah, it will be a stretch. There will be books that Logan and I will read simultaneously for lessons. There will be books that Madison and I read together for fun. There will be books that we read together out loud for narration. There will be books to further my walk with God or teach me new things about autism. There will be fun books and boring books (like the Galileo one that we just got from the library).

Look forward to my new book review every week. I will try to keep them short and to the point so as to not bore you to death. lol I am about 2 weeks behind already in the challenge. Perhaps I should quit blogging and get reading ! I did finish my book for this week though! Woot! Woot!

Wanna join in on the fun? Go to the 52 books in 52 weeks website ( ) for more info! You know you want to!
