Nothing Like a Little Humiliation Along with the Good News

Posted Sep 14 2008 3:57pm

Bloomers_2 I got so excited about Dr. Ogden poking a camera and "my tools" (if he'd left the "s" off that phrase I might have gotten even more excited) inside my knee joint, I forgot to tell you how exciting it was that I had to wear paper bloomers today. I didn't know paper bloomers existed. Since my knee had already been examined and I thought this was only a follow up to confirm the MRI results and schedule the scope date, I didn't bother with wearing sweats today and wore regular jeans to the appointment. Imagine my surprise when the RN said "I'll get you a pair of shorts so the doctor can examine your knee again" and then walked back in with something that looked, I kid you not, just like these only made out of paper.

Gene thought they were great but that just proves what a sick perverse bas***d he is at heart. It would be an understatement to say he thought they were hilarious. He even wanted me to bring them home to photograph and blog for you guys. He's got your back. Not mine, but yours. As if I don't humiliate myself daily on here anyway. Okay, I admit I thought about it a few seconds and maybe if I'd had a bigger purse I might have stuffed them inside but no way was I walking out the door with my baby blue paper bloomers in my hands. I do have a little dignity left. Not much, but a little.

Wonder if I get to wear them for the surgery? Wonder if I get Versed for the surgery? That combination might be worth filming.
