Endo is done! Phew, I think I did really well although there was a question which described a deeply flawed experiment and asked us to interpret the data… I hope I caught everything. SO the last question, a bonus mark, was “what is your favourite hormone and why”. My answer?
My favourite group of hormones are the corticosteroids, especially the synthetic ones budesonide and prednisone. Their potent anti-inflammatory effects keep my asthma under control so I can spend more time studying Although I have a love/hate relationship with prednisone due to its osmoregulatory and metabolic effects (ie chipmunk cheeks and high blood sugars!) as well as its negative impact on bone density.
I am a huuuuuge loser. I’m so embarrassed that I actually MENTIONED my asthma to another person lol! Also the “…so I can spend more time studying” bit is extremely nerdy. Good Lord. It was a bonus mark, otherwise I wouldn’t have been so cheeky. Then again, that was a kind of dumb question.
OK seriously. One last push and I’ll be almost done. Go-go gadget metabolism notes!
