The third time I got called down to a patient's room to give a breathing treatment to a person with NO respiratory history but WITH a history of heart failure and who was obviously edematous....I explained AGAIN very nicely that albuterol won't fix cardiac wheezing, that's more in the Lasix realm....and then I charted that my dept would only be giving nebulizer treatments for wheezing due to airway constriction and not those due to fluid overload.
I don't mean to be a smartass but, ***damn, how many times do I have to explain the OBVIOUS to the same nurse? I don't claim for a second to know everything but, that one, I know.
