I love fourth year

Posted Sep 30 2010 11:14am

I know it’s only a month in, but so far I’m just really really happy. We seem to be done with memorizing pathways and processes, and now the focus is on learning topics that interest us, giving and attending (lots of) seminars, putting forward our ideas and thinking about what next.

I’m doing my honours thesis in a genetics lab and love it there. It’s so good to get away from the world of pre-med kids and the constant talk of med school applications into an environment where the only thing that matters is science. Aaaaaaah. I can relate really well to everyone in the lab and my supervising prof is a blast (and a genius). I know I’m biased, but I think I’m going to have the best fourth year project heheh.

I’m excited for graduation of course, but enjoying my last year all the same. I think that’s a really good place to be. Life’s good :)
