Ease Asthma Symptoms With Hypnosis

Posted Feb 18 2010 6:54pm 2 Comments

Hypnosis is a form of unconsciousness resembling sleep - contemporary research suggests that it is actually a wakeful state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, with diminished peripheral awareness. [wikipedia]. Hypnosis can help people with sleeping disorder or panic disorder to be calm and relaxed.

Lately Dr. Ran Anbar of the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse suggested that hypnosis can also help people with asthma to ease asthma symptoms, as well as to minimize the use of conventional asthma medication.

So, next time your children show symptoms like habit coughing at night, difficult breathing, or hyperventilation, you can try the hypnosis therapy to help them. Hypnosis can also help both child and parents from anxiety and panic attack, which are usually accompany an asthma attack.

However, please be careful as hypnosis can only be performed by an experienced and trained person. You can bring your children to a health care provider who provides hypnosis therapy.

Besides hypnosis, there are many forms of natural cure for asthma, that keep you away from asthma drugs.

Looking for alternatives for asthma is a great idea. But hypnosis is not a cure all and has some mental side effects that are quite obvious.

I wouldn't be so quick to hypnosis.  Try something that is more proven.

Kenna and NiJon,

I think hypnosis is more like a prevention from a greater asthma attack. Sometimes stress and anxiety can trigger asthma symptoms, in these cases, hypnosis can help to prevent the real asthma attack.
