Centella Herbs To Prevent Asthma

Posted Jan 04 2009 5:42pm
I must say that immune system is a vital aspect in allergy and asthma management.   Besides controlling our living environment, our diet, and taking our medication, having a good immune system will prevent us from getting infected by viruses or getting allergy when exposed to allergen. My family has been using herbs for our health. My mom needs something that will boost her immune system, to reduce the allergy and asthma symptoms. The best herb that we use is centella (centella asiatica). Centella asiatica (also called as gotu kola) is a plant that grows in Sri Lanka, Australia, Malaysia, New Guinea, as well as in Indonesia, where me and my family live. From Wikipedia: “Gotu kola is a mild adaptogen, is mildly antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcerogenic, anxiolytic, a cerebral tonic, a circulatory stimulant, a diuretic, nervine and vulnerary.”

We usually drink the decoction juice from centella leaves, four times a week. It is proven to boost our immune system. The frequency of inflammation or flu has been decreasing significantly. Instead of taking anti-inflammatory drugs, which have certain side-effects, to manage her airways, my mom now chooses natural herbs to get healthier.

Natural remedies are now getting more and more popular in treating diseases, including asthma. Next time you get asthma symptoms like coughing or stuffy nose, try natural cure to treat it, and reduce the intake of drugs. Anyway, why don’t we use what nature has provided us?
