On Tuesday my dad will have a catscan done of the surrounding blood vessels to see if it has spread there. If it hasn't spread to the blood vessels they will schedule him for a Whipple Procedure. If it has spread there I guess it's straight to chemo and radiation.
Of course we're praying that it was caught early enough and they can do this procedure; I'm thankful

Somebody asked me the other day about CNS Whipple disease. I said that I thought it was an instestinal infection and didn't think it had a CNS manifestation. I thought wrong. Caused by Tropheryma whippelii, a gram positive intracellular actinomycete, Whipple disease of the CNS can cause various symptoms, including ophthalmoplegia.
