I often hear this comment: “I have a normal cholesterol panel. So I have low risk for heart disease, right?”

A couple of weeks back one of my blog posts highlighted a study from England in the UK which found that total cholesterol levels had no relationship with risk of death from heart disease. Moreover, higher cholesterol levels were associated with a reduced risk of stroke. Such findings obviously ask serious questions about the concept
