I read that it raises VIII and VWF, but that doesn’t really make sense since the factor VIII is already there, there is no need to make more of it? Right? Hematology appt- Von Willebrands Disease by Joan Jones Posted Sat 30 Oct 2010 12:00am We saw hematology on wed.  We discussed Hannah's Von Willebrands (VWD).  He said we are not using the DDAVP since they are sure that is what caused the drop in sodium and her seizure.    They are going to be giving her Von Willebrands factor as an IV as soon as she gets to the hospital the day of surgery and for at least a week after.  There ... Days 9 - now of the ketogenic diet :) by Joan Jones Posted Sun 09 Dec 2012 12:00am Things have been really hectic since day 8 and the port surgery...first off we are HOME!  Got home about 4pm on friday.   After Hannah's surgery, her ketones dropped from a high of 160 (good) to a low of almost nothing!  The only conncetion we can find is since she has von willebrand disease, she has to have von willebrand factor through the I ...
