Not a race race, but a run within a race by GB Patient Expert Posted Mon 19 Oct 2009 10:04pm Ran the Humboldt Half Marathon this weekend, but coming off of nearly 3 weeks of sickness with hardly any running let alone training... I was 10:00 slower than my PR. The course really does feel down hill both ways because of the towering, dense growth of redwood trees on both sides of the road. Did not have a Garmin, nor a watch. Snowy Runs, Race Rejections & Shopping Sprints by Will Run For Glitter Posted Mon 16 Dec 2013 8:29am So, first thing’s first, I did not get accepted into the NYC Half Marathon in March. Part of me is sad; the NYC Half would have been my first race in more than a year-and-a-half, and it’s scheduled just a couple of weeks before my wedding. It would have been a great reason to get my ass in gear, and the training would have been a a solid ou ... Read on »

A Race I Had No Business RunningRace Report for the New Jersey/Long Branch Half Marathon (Part II) by The Laminator Posted Wed 05 May 2010 7:54pm Race Day Morning 6:15AM comes way too early for me as my FC wakes me about 45 minutes after we had scheduled to be up. He had showered, gotten dressed and eaten half his breakfast by the time I was able to convince my weary body to get out of bed and get ready. Thanks to my coughing fiasco in the middle of the night, I was exhausted and h ... Read on »
Coogan’s 5k Race Report, Or: Why I won’t be running this race again next year by emlit81 Posted Sun 07 Mar 2010 12:00am This morning I ran the Coogan’s Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5k in Washington Heights (an area of NYC that is even further uptown than the area in which I live).  As I said yesterday (I think it was yesterday, anyway…I’m too lazy to go back and check), I wasn’t necessarily looking to PR, though I was also planning to run strong and see where ... Bike Race v. Running Races by Kaitlyn W. Facebook Posted Thu 28 Jun 2012 2:49pm Tuesday night hosted the 2nd race in the Laramie mountain bike race series. Looking at the course map Monday night, I began to prepare myself for yet another fun sufferfest. While racing up the torturous technical, steep mile of Aspen trail, I began to think about how racing my mountain bike is very different from running races. 1. I h ... Read on »
Last run before the race, meetups, spawn running video. by Barefoot Angie Bee Posted Thu 14 Oct 2010 7:29pm   I managed my time wisely today.  I am now standing up and applauding myself and taking a bow with a little curtsy thrown in for good measure .  I finished all of my recaps and paperwork for the nuun jobs I have done recently, grocery shopped with Jaymon and the spawn, all of which were very well behaved, and then ran four barefoot miles wi ... Running The Race, But Running Out Of Gas by paschalltwin Posted Thu 10 Jun 2010 12:00am My Spirostat test came back today. This test is for the purpose of identifying the DNA of various strands of Lyme. Guess what? My test came by inconclusive. Why am I not surprised! The test is effective as long as you have a Lyme strand that they have a test for. I was convinced that this test was going to provide some answers. Lucky me! How ... Read on »
