Changed my goal to not race the Salt Lake City Half-marathon in April by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Mon 17 Nov 2008 9:07pm I've enjoyed running a few races during the past two years, and I'd like to do more. However, I haven't enjoyed the constant pressure to train to run faster and faster... upcoming races. I will get faster as I develop endurance, and depending on how I feel in the Spring, I may still run that half. I've been thinking about this for a number of weeks Read on »

Surf City USA Half Marathon by anotorias Posted Tue 10 Feb 2009 12:00am OFFICIAL TIME: 02:20:56 I vividly recall my running partner and I having a week long debate over which half marathon we would be running in February 2009 (as the possibility of us doing two back to back was immediately thrown out the window). This was going to be my first half marathon ever. I, on the one hand Read on »
Capital City Half Marathon 2012 by Meredith Posted Sun 06 May 2012 12:00am Maybe I should title this post "I wear tiny shorts."  (Hey, I'm a former gymnast and I can wear them so I don't care.) Or maybe I should title this post, "Damn, I've gotten fast!" I never know how to start a blog post eloquently so let's just jump in.  I ran the Cap City Half Marathon yesterday and I effing rocked it!  I am five weeks ... Read on »
Salt Lake City Half Marathon Training... by Marathon Mommies !. Patient Expert Posted Sun 24 Aug 2008 10:10pm Okay, so many months ago I registered for the SLC half marathon. And while I dream of running the race, finishing and still being able to walk, I have not really been... the half marathon, but I will at least do a 10k if I am not ready. I'm such a loser for putting off my training. I have been trying to get into the gym and at least workout Read on »
I set a new Personal Best in the Salt Lake City Half-Marathon by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Mon 17 Nov 2008 9:08pm mile long runs for about a year at a pace of 11:30 - 12:15 or so. I'm not used to running a pace of 10:30 or so, and that pace took its toll. My next half-marathon... mile, 4 minutes spent walking. Today I took 30-second breaks every half-mile, 12 minutes spent walking. My speed today was fast enough to get the 55 second PB and to overcome Read on »
A rough guess at my pace for the Salt Lake City Half-Marathon by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Mon 17 Nov 2008 9:08pm I'm planning on running the Salt Lake City Half-Marathon on April 21. It's way to early to decide on a pace for the race, but I thought it might be helpful during my training to have a rough idea of the pace I might run during the race. My PB for the half-marathon is 2:21:56 and was sent in August 2006 at the Great Salt Lake Half-Marathon Read on »

Race Report: Music City Half Marathon by Amy and April Y. Patient Expert Posted Thu 22 Jan 2009 6:50pm was a goner. That is wayyyy too fast for a half marathon in 80 degrees. Crazy. So, while I wasn't happy with my time, 2:21:16 (average 10:47/mile pace), I'm not completely upset about it. I had to walk a good portion of the second half of the race, so considering that, my time is pretty good. And it's about 10 minutes better than my half marathon best. So Read on »
