Sorry. Life's been on mute for a while. The minutes trickle past... and in this vacuum it's as if even my breaths are muted. Vacuum packed for your enjoyment.
Last week we worked things out. I explained a lot. Words, really. I came clean. I put words to my emotions. That's progress, at least. I wasn't on mute then. And V understood

The mysterious Mac mute problem

the problem.
Recently, I figured out that this happened as soon as I muted the sound on my Mac and then put it back on. After this, the system sounds would totally shut off.
So, now I do not mute the sound totally. I just reduce the volume in case I need to do that.
The system sounds are really important because they alert me for different events

Mute the TV for the kids

Have you noticed if you "mute" the television the kids continue to watch the television? I heard from a friend that her 5 year old son' s favorite movie is in Spanish... homework time, we "mute" the television while my grandson does his homework and he is still sneaking a look at the television, even without the sound.
