On January 14th 2009 Forest Laboratories and Cypress Biosciences announced that the FDA Approved Milnacipran [Savella] for treatment of Fibromyalgia.
The drug seems to have encouraging effects on fibromyalgia suffers however there are some cautions on the drug:
Increased Blood Pressure
Increased Heart Rate
Cardiac Problems

Bottom line:

Moist heat is nothing like all the other heat appliances like pads and water bottles, moist heat is from a shower, whirlpool, warm swimming pool, steam room or bath.
Some Doctors apparently say that using moist heat treatments twice a day will be more productive in reducing pain than other types of heat methods.
