Jesusita Hike/TrailRun; my first real trailrun

as well in the chilly almost 70 degrees weather.
To warm our cold bones last Saturday, James and I set out for our first real TrailRun on the base of the Jesusita Hike. (pronounced like He-su-si-ta)
We were greeted by this weird guy:
Oh hi, nice to meat you. My name is Harry. I'm a hairy cactus
I run on the bluffs a lot, and that's kind of trail-ish

I used to be one of those who think that trail shoes are not necessary for running on trails; in Singapore anyway; and just any ordinary running shoes will suffice. That was when most of my trailrunning was done at MacRitchie Reservoir. This year I have expanded my trailrunning from MacRitchie to various other trails and especially the Bukit Timah

Here are a few pictures taken from the University of San Diego (UCSD) trails that I ran on a couple of weeks ago testing out my new Saucony ProGrid Xodus TrailRunning Shoes. This is also the trail where I ran my first 5K race back in May.

In a blink of an eye, we have reached the half way run of the North Face TrailRun series. This time round we were back at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve but instead... a mountain biking trail. It was single file running most of the way with lots of mud and cyclists to avoid.
