CDC: Discordant results from "reverse sequence" syphilis screening

Currently, the CDC recommends screening with a nontreponemal test, such as the RPR, to identify possible patients with untreated syphilis, followed by confirmation... patient populations with a high disease prevalence, that have used "reverse sequence screening" for syphilis from 2006-2010.

That is the sort of dumb conclusion we would normally expect from epidemiologists to the finding (below) that users of Viagra are more likely to get STDs. That third factors -- such as behaviour -- have to be considered is normally beyond them
