Best drug for multi-symptoms(add and narcolepsy?

It seems to me that the best combo drug for both of these symptoms have been the dextroamphetamines. I have been put on Adderall, yet it will make me very sleepy. A neurologist stated to me that Adderall was not indicated for narcolepsy, yet my medical literature tells me otherwise. Does anyone have a follow up to what I have described?
