certainly the sweet syrup of the dates that grow all over the country, not bee honey. ever being better than 2010. But I'm willing to try!
In an effort to make a sweet new year, and because New Years was on Shabbat, Josh and I thought it was the perfect time...
2010 was quite a year for me. I had some unbelievably wonderful highs and some not so great lows. Luckily, the lows aren't worth focusing on and the highs were so amazing

Tonight, along with the rest of the world’s Jewish population, I’ll be celebrating Rosh Ha Shana, the Jewish new year .
There’s a lot of symbolism with this holiday (one of my favorites!) and dipping apples in honey — for a sweet new year — is just one of them that remind me of my childhood, my family, my heritage.

If one had to think of a Christmas cake, I'm guessing a lot of people around the world would think "fruit cake"! It's pretty much the same here in the two places I've lived in India where Christmas is celebrated in a big way. Whether in Kerala or in Goa, its all about preparing the fruit way ahead before Christmas and then turning it into a cake ...

For about my tenth birthday my father made me this dolls house. It has been a source of great enjoyment for me - I so love to re-arrange ....still do.
