In the sleep community, CPAP is consistently mentioned as the “gold standard” treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea. I find this odd, since the overall success rate... are only rough estimates, but if you take 100 people who are newly diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, only about 1/2 are willing to even try it. Not everyone that snores has obstructive sleep apnea but in general, the louder you snore, the more likely you’ll have obstructive sleep apnea.
