group in Bowie-Crofton (Maryland) that has been a very successful support group for about 20 years. It was (and still is) a large group with a newsletter, lending library, interesting guest speakers, holiday parties, and nice people to talk to. I found comfort and support from that group, and was introduced to organizations and local resources

group or support system doesn’t work just because there are a lot of people involved. They work when the person seeking support emotionally buys into them. A group... support to you. To believe that a group offers genuinine support for you there are 4 things you must come to believe:
You must believe there is something in it for you

Last Night's Support Group meeting

I attended my first support group meeting last night. The speaker was from a local fitness facility, and I thought it nice that afterwards he personally told everyone... night there were a poignant moment where a woman struggled to get out the words to explain her situation. I wanted to cry for her. I felt her pain.
