Last night the thermometer in my car actually read 89 degrees! It was amazing to see that at 7pm -- so I was psyched for my run! LOL -- psyched and run in the same sentence... that's a head-shaker for sure! I met up with my running club for a 40 minute "easy" run. I was doing pretty well until I needed a potty break. :) No matter tho ...

Over the years, running has gotten a bad rap. Many people think that the impact your feet absorb isn't good. This is only a myth. When we were born, our bodies were designed to walk, run and jump. Things such as ballet, yoga, and other exercises that push your joints to the limits are not good for you. Did ya'll know that ballet dancers have a high ...

I mentioned yesterday how I've gravitated to bicycling instead of running, but I do still run at least once a week--sometimes more. When I was in high school, I ran all of the time. What's funny is I was so comptetative, I would kill myself before I'd let someone pass me on the track. Seriously, my side would be hurting, calfs cramping, but I'd st ...

Hold your calls to DSS. The espresso was nearly gone, when you drink a cappuccino, that goes first, and what is left is foam, she got the skim milk foam, which I do not like.THEN WTF DO YOU DRINK IT, WOMAN?! Well, BECAUSE? I have to get milk in me somehow, right? I have no Vitamin-D in my body, and milk is chock-fulla the stuff, so when we go ...

To run or not to run

I miss running. Until this morning the most I had run at one time, for the past 6 weeks, was about 3.5 miles. Sure, I've been beating my brains out swimming and cycling, and adding in some walking when the air quality was vaguely decent, but 3.5 miles. Last year by this time I had run 300 miles more than I've run this year. I miss it. A LOT. ...

Rain. Rain everywhere up and down the country. I went running in the rain today. I forget how much fun it is to run in the rain. Every time I drive around and see people running in the rain, I think to myself – now THAT is one dedicated runner. And it makes me question my own priorities around running. I don't normally head out running when it is ...

I have progressed from hoping to be able to run the first couple miles of my run and wondering if I can do it, to knowing that I'll be able to do it. Not to say that its not a little tricky and I still have goofy fantasies of curling up on the asphalt of the trail. But I know that I'm going to be able to do it without walking....at least for the fi ...

Wish M good luck in this weekend at the annual Ekiden (a relay race type marathon). She's been on and off and on again this week at school with a cold and then a stomach bug but she seems well enough to run her 4 kilometers on Sunday. Then J has a test and a group interview for a one in five chance at a place in her first choice high school. If ...

At 8:19 pm tonight, I ran 4 laps (2.96 miles) in 33:28, or an 11:18 minute-per-mile pace in approximately 66-70 degree weather. At the time I was running, it felt like I was running really fast -- in fact, much faster than my last run -- but apparently it was all in my head! ;-) I've learned from experience that sometimes running at night in a coo ...

I mentioned J is on the cross country team. He loves it. He loves to run to begin with. He'll run all over our neighborhood rather than ride a bike. It's because of this that he doesn't know how to ride a bike, and he's shown no interest in learning. I don't know if that's good or bad. Anyway, J is on the cross country team. While he loves t ...
