to the same family as the better-known herpes simplex viruses, but HHV-6 and HHV-7 do not cause the cold sores and genital herpes infections that HSV can cause. A child with roseola... the neck, back and chest, then spreading out. The rash lasts a few days to a couple weeks.
Roseola is about the only virus in which the rash appears after the fever

This afternoon Drew broke out in a rash. I immediately began scouring the Internet for possible culprits, and found the RoseolaVirus . All of the symptoms fit Drew perfectly, and a quick trip to the doctor (the fourth one in as many days) confirmed the diagnosis. Now, in 5-7 days Drew should be rash

Virus hits Genzyme plant – Virus Infected Hamster Ovary Cells

This is a little different as we all read about computer viruses so much, but this is a real contamination issue. The plant had issues back in 2008 with a warning letter... Genzyme shut down a Massachusetts factory after a virus infected hamster ovary cells used to produce Fabrazyme and Cerezyme, drugs for two rare genetic disorders.
