This Saturday is world Tai Chi and QiGong Day, an event to celebrate and share the healing traditions of Chinese medicine.

Thu 22 Jan 2009 6:55pmQigong - pronounced chee-goong) It is an ancient method of healing from China. QI means in traditional chinese medicine - our vital breath or vital energy. A rough equivalent is bio-energy or electromagnetic energy.
GONG can mean discipline, work or skill. So Qigong means -" energy work" or "breath work" Also called "air energy".

There have been much misconception of Qigong, especially medical Qigong. Qigong enhances and uses.... The only investment you need is time - and what a payback you receive in return! It is not advisable to change to different systems of Qigong from one to another!

According to Dr. Chow, Love is the most important element that envelopes Chow Qigong.
As she puts it "without love, life qi is empty" Some of the basic concepts of Chow Qigong includes the following:-
A positive mental attitude.
Proper posture and breathing with diaphragm (not chest)
Meditate daily.
