I had to take Sofia back to the pediatrician again today, and now we're on another antibiotic and we have to go back to the Pulmicort along with the Albuterol . Poor dear sounds just awful, and she's certainly not as perky as usual. And boy is she GROUCHY!

to change her to a less harsh (but much more expensive) medication called Pulmicort. I've had her on Prednisolone for quite a while but that drug lowers the immune system and has other side effects... Anyway, I was told that Pulmicort is quite expensive, and Faith doesn't have any drug coverage. But as my mom swung by the clinic today to talk to our nurse

Aiden is doing a little better, he is off of oxygen for the most part and his O2 levels are staying in the 90s. He's getting antibiotics twice a day, breathing treatments every 4 hours, and Pulmicort treatments 3 times a day (which he hates and refuses to cooperate). Still no word on when he'll be released though.

Stepdown fail

I’ve been on an extremely good streak lately so I figured I’d try a little stepdown manoeuvre. I went from 2 puffs of pulmicort to 1 to no puffs (but still taking... of pulmicort twice daily. I can deal with that.

Just got back from seeing my GP who is basically awesome. I got my ears flushed out and I feel like a brand new woman, honest to goodness. He also gave me some pulmicort for my nose (ie rhinocort) and suggested trying loratadine instead of certirizine. It’s all a step in the right direction!
