I eat my Fiber Cereal every morning, and while I know that the serving size is only 1 cup - I just poor myself a bowl and don't bother. I decided to track my calories for a week- and in order to do that I have to be very careful with portion control so I can get an accurate count.

Portion Control 101
An issue with eating out or eating in general is portion control. Here’s a quick reference guide so that you don’t go overboard and don’t have to think too hard.
Fruit-1 serving is the size of a baseball
Vegetables-1/2 cup is ½ a baseball
Pasta or Rice-1/2 cup is ½ a baseball
Fish or Chicken- 1 serving is a deck

enjoy certain things that I love, I've learned to embrace portion control. I'm not overly keen on the phrase "portion control" but I have yet to think of a clever euphemism. Moving on, portion control is something that takes a bit of practice but it's a skill worth having. It allows me to eat a wide variety of delicious foods while taking really good

Tuesday's tip: A proper serving of leafy vegetables like kalelettuceswiss chardgreen cabbage or spinach is 1 cup. If you cook or steam these vegetablesthe serving size is 1/2 cup. A serving of crunchy vegetables—carrotsbroccolibell peppercelerycauliflowerbrussel sproutscucumberzucchini—is 1/2 cup.

Dear MFers,
Medifast teaches you portion control.
Since you will be eating Medifast Meals five times a day, you will only consume the amounts of food... the serving sizes below in your head at all times, in order to better estimate your portions:
1/2 cup of cooked vegetables = scoop of ice cream
1 ounce of cheese = a pair of dice

A Baseball - a serving of vegetables or fruit
A rounded handful - about one half cup cooked or raw veggies or cut fruit, a piece of fruit... food portions... and it's not just at the fast food places asking for .65 to upsize your value meal.
