Ooh - look what's arriving in stores soon! The Black Plum Leather Deluxe Beauty Trunk. I'm sure it will run as an exclusive somewhere, as in the States it is with Neiman Marcus. Just thinking that if Santa loved me at all, even the very slightest, he wouldn't want me to put up with Asda plastic boxes to keep my make up in any more.

Apple and Plum Butter

Kevin has commented that he has not got enough plums to make preserves so ‘we will make traditional apple and plum ‘butter’.
The end result is a stiff, sliceable preserve. Keeps years! ideal for sponge cakes as it is fairly ’solid’, does not run.’

This is a great recipe I used to make for Bebe B often when she first started out eating solid foods. I was inspired to post it today after seeing some beautiful, ripe plums at the market this week. If you can’t find plums you could use pluots or peaches as well.

This grilled chicken recipe turns a simple dish into an elegant meal. The salsa goes well with grilled fish and seafood, also.
2 T. seasoned rice vinegar
1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. coarsely ground black pepper
4 medium skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 pound ripe purple and/or green plums ( 4 medium) chopped
