The 2nd annual Wilson Bridge Half Marathon is OVER… and I finished it!
Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better first half marathon experience. The race was well organized, the course was gorgeous and pretty flat, and the weather was nearly perfect for running.
Since the race course was point to point, I got up good and early ...

The Quest was officially completed yesterday morning when I crossed the finish line of my very first 26.2 mile run on a very nice marathon course in Northern Georgia. The weather was perfect and everything went to plan.... up until a point.
The morning started the day before. I spent the day drinking a lot of water and Gatorade preparing ...

Weeks ago I questioned the authenticity of all this hype I’d heard about and read about the C ...

This
past weekend, I traveled to Burlington, Vermont for the Olympic distance
National Championship.
The
last time I was in Burlington, I was in my early twenties, I remember drinking
at Nectar’s, walking on Church Street and a lush green in the trees I’ve seen
nowhere else. More than a decade later,
the mountains still ro ...

Bear with me everyone, this race recap is just a bit lengthy!
The race this weekend was a huge success!
I went in planning to treat it like a long run taking it nice and easy and I finished with a 6 minute PR!
Let's start at the beginning:
When my alarm went off at 4:30 a.m. I could hear rain outside. Not good.
It was a ...

This morning I woke anxiously at 5:15am for my 5:30 half marathon departure. 7:30am races are killer! How was I able to get ready so fast, you may be asking? I like to sleep in as late as possible (even if that means only 5:15am), so the night before I do some prep wo ...

Two years ago I ran the America's Finest City Half Marathon in San Diego and ran a horrible race. I saw the finish clock as I ran towards it hit 2:00 and keep going. In 2009, I ran a 2:00:42. My time -- as painful as it was when all my friends ran much faster times -- was okay for the race but it was the way that I ran the race that was so bad ...
