There were lots of great costumes at the race, but my favorite was the Forest Gump runner. I saw him right before the race started. Chicago Monster Half Marathon Race Report by KovasP Posted Tue 02 Nov 2010 5:38am  My typical prerace breakfast: Latvian rye bread, sunflower seed butter, bananas, and coffee with soymilk. Not sure if it would work for everyone, but it definitely works for me. I also ate 3 Clif Bloks before the race and then the remaining 3 of the pack at about 7.5 miles.
