In order to evaluate the effects of vitamin D3 on monocyte-derived dendritic cells (DCs) of relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis patients, DCs differentiation and maturation were evaluated in vitro based on surface phenotypic changes. The expression of CD14, CD83, CD1a, CD80, CD86, CD206 and C209 was analysed by fluorescence-activated cell

pathway. In a functional study, lycopene dose-dependently attenuated monocyte adhesion to endothelial monolayer but not that adhesion to extracellular matrix.
Taken together, we provided here the first evidence showing that lycopene is able to inhibit TNF-alpha-induced NF-kappaB activation, ICAM-1 expression, and monocyte-endothelial interaction, suggesting

on type 2 diabetes and immune balance were unveiled this week. Apparently, two types of immune cells–T-cells and monocytes– interact with each other, leading to cell and tissue... the T’s and the monocytes and help influence that balance, perhaps diabetic inflammation can be mitigated and controlled.
Something to think about while keeping your holiday diet in check
