Went to our running clinic's 2nd week of track workout tonight. Did 1 mi warm-up, followed by 8x400 (at threshold pace), with each 400 of speed work followed by a recovery...% sure what my overall pace was.) I honestly didn't feel very tired after tonight's track workout, so either my fitness is improving or I'm not working hard enough!
Not sure if I

Lately, I have almost given my running a back seat. Oh, I still get a run in 5 days a week, but 4-5 miles is all I have been getting per day. I fear my overall endurance has... run, but a real low keyed one in which a finishers metal is given to anyone who runs at least a 10K. Many people stop at the marathon distance. I did 30 miles once, and a 50K

Fooling Ourselves into Running: Six Of
One Mile. A Dozen Miles Of The Other
By Corey Irwin
Let’s face it. No matter what our experience level, we all go through phases... technique can be used to increase daily and weekly mileage. Let’s say that the goal is to run 6 miles, but for whatever reason, you’re “just not feeling like it today.” Set your GPS

fine during most of the run, but I started to run out of energy during that last half-mile.
...I started my run about 11 am this morning. The temperature was 25 (F) last night, and the air was still cold during my run, even though the temperature in the sun was 50 (F

Today I had the time and yearning for a long run. Started from my house to get an easy 16 in.
Seven miles later, I was approaching the 11th Street bridge. I crossed over and ran up the east side of the river and headed home. There was a fierce southwest wind, and it clouded over and was fairly cold. I put the camera away and picked up

and I have yet to run 40 miles for April's Ten More Miles! challenge. I was halfway planning on running 40 this morning but I slept past my 4am, 4:30am and 5am alarm clock and woke up at 8am. Dangit. I'm leaving out of town soon and so I didn't have six hours to go run. I don't want to drop out so soon because in May I'll be running 50 miles

them run/jog for 20 minutes (8 minute mile pace). They cover two and a half miles and end up burning 250 kcals in the same amount time.
Whenever someone says it doesn.... And to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of advocating people go for jogs either, but I just wanted to clarify that it’s asinine to say that walking a mile and running a mile burns the same

Today I used my GPS to measure the distance I ran, and the number is 0.83 miles or 55% of the run. That is the most I've run during my recovery from the blood clots... stronger is how I feel when I finish. When I first started jogging earlier this spring, I was pretty tired when I finished the 1.5 miles, even though most of the distance was done

mile ride in a loop near my house that had some hills and flats. I wanted to stay close in case I got tired and also need to get home quick for work. I didn't plan on doing a run afterwards but I had some time so I quickly threw on the shoes and did a quick 1.6 mile loop around the subdivision just to keep my legs in shape as well. I need to get some good swims
